If your child’s father becomes abusive while you’re pregnant would it be so wrong to leave and not want them in the child’s life?

Not wrong but there might be some legal ties since he's the babies father (Biologically, I assume)

But I mean if you can prove to the judge your child’s life would be in danger if he had any contact with him or her, would that really be a big issue?

It'd be a big issue as in the father might put up a fight, but you're trying to protect you and your baby, which is a good thing.

Well by all means if he is abusive leave and not make the father part of the baby's life

The thing is, it’s like he became like this over night almost. He was so happy when I told him but as I continue to get deeper into my pregnancy, he just has started to get violently physical with me and has even been verbally abusive as well and before my pregnancy, he was never like this.

No, abusive people are better left out of your life and even more so for your child's life. I had an abusive father and I was on a very dark path until he died.

I get what you mean as far as legally, but I don’t see why a judge wouldn’t approve me custody if I have proof my child’s life could be put in danger, even before birth, if around their father.

You have no proof, and it has nothing to do with the legality. It's an ethical issue.
