Trending & News It's common where the wife / mother dislikes her lot in life. Basically didn't want to be or wasn't cut out to be a wife or mother & resents her (unmarried) daughter for having a life she didn't... such mothers will oftentimes turn really nasty once the girl marries.
Take a friend's mother. She is always picking on this girl. Making accusations without grounds, etc. She isn't very nice to her daughter. Who is a very nurturing generous and well-liked person.
But then her mother wasn't very nice to this mother or her sisters. Not nice at all. In fact the grandmother said more than once to her daughters that you were a mistake, I ruined my life, etc.
And the great grandmother was even worse. Saying to the grandmother when the grandmother's brother died in an accident - why couldn't it be you (the grandmother) that died instead
In some cases, yes.
I do have a better relationship with my father than I do with my mother solely because he and I share the same interests and have similar beliefs/opinions in many things.
My mother has a better relationship with my brother because they are similar in many aspects. My mom and I argue a lot though - which I'd wager is very common among teenage girls and their mothers.
Then again, one of my friends is very close to her mother and not so much with her dad.
I'd say it comes down to the mother and father lol. I would say you could say that with my family. But my father was the Rock of our family. I could make the argument that we all respected my father more. But my mother also ALLOWED my father to lead our family. In reality they were probably pretty equal. My mother can exasperated me at times. But that's only because she's almost 80. And as mother is always do the RESPECT of being my mother. But being 80, the world has changed so much and she isn't always right about things anymore. In her mind I'll always be her little child that needs to be led. Most the time I try to just smile and nod 😆. As long as it isn't to her detriment. There's nothing wrong with letting her believe she's right even if she isn't.
Do not know. I get on really well with both of my parents , I have not only better but also the best relationships with them low them so much <3 But my brother , as you indicated as a cliché or not , is kinda closer to our mother rather than he is to our father.

In some ways. The mother always expects the mother to live up to or do better than herself and its the same with fathers and sons whereas daughters are treated very different by their fathers and same with mothers and their sons.
Mothers always overlook the wrong their sons do and their failings and its the same with fathers and their daughters.
Now that's a normal traditional hero family dynamic I'm not sure with all these new age family types with two mothers, two fathers, multiple step daddies, trouples, raising kids gender neutral, non binary and all that jazz.
I had an equal standard relationship with both
I can’t say with father or mother was worse or better it was linear constant with both
But I can say that with my mom I can share more things when it comes to women stuff even that it’s minimal. I never told her let’s say who do I date today or tomorrow etc.
I know though that for some the situation is different some daughters do get along way better with their father then their mother mostly because the mother being toxic or different character.
It varies
But at the same time i get along better with my Dad than Mom. My mom was super controlling, i live far away... she asks me to move back because im her retirement plan.
Well, I don't have a bad relationshio with my father but I do have a better relationship with my mother.
No, I don't think it's true. I think it all comes down to what of kind of relationship you have with your parents, their gender doesn't matter.
I was a mamas boy. She's done so much for us. And my father was always there doing activities with us. Kinda seems like it. Usually dad's treat their daughter's like princesses. Which can back Fitr and turn them into Gold diggers lol
I don’t know. I don’t have a good relationship with either of my parents.
Aww, be strong bud! How does that affect your psyche?
Not true. It's about the relationship with each of your parents rather than the gender.
It's true for most of the families I have seen yet.
I only have girls. i think they all like me slightly more than their mother. she's kinda mean though. Me and my brothers and sister were closer with out dad.
For me it isn't but I think that is the case a lot of the time. I just am closer to my mom even though I love my dad so much
It's genric statement as people are kinder to opposite sex
It depends. I was closer with my dad when I was younger but as I got older, I noticed he was abusive and controlling so now I would say I have a better relationship with my mom.
Because have seen many daughters have better relationship with their mothers and vice versa. It just depends on the method of parenting and how friendly parents are to their children.
No, I see far more women with daddy issues, than mother issues
I love my mom but I'm totally a daddy's girl.
I have barely any relationship with both.
That's actually so sad... wish you the best!
Definitely not true in everyones case.
It might be true, but I don't believe it is.
Nope. Momma's girl here.
Yes, It is more prevalent in White Families,
i think it mostly with the first child
That depends
It's actually common
