Well, it depends on your situation really. If you are above 18, you are earning enough money to support yourself and you are not doing anything wrong meaning having wrong habits etc then you should speak up, stand up to your parents and tell them to respect your privacy.

However, if you are not making enough money and are still financially dependent on your parents then yes naturally your parents will tell you what to do and what not to do, they will even try to discipline or control you also.

As long as your parents are not doing anything illegal, like resorting to emotional, mental or physical abuse or they forcing you to stay with them then they have the right to make you follow the rules because it is their house so it is their rules.

If you think you can lead your life independently and you don't want your parents interference then you can leave their house and then do whatever you want too.

Depending on your situation you decide.

I don't think there's any answer to this. If you're still living at home, then you're not too old, because you're not old enough to move out yet.

If you live under their roof without paying then you need to follow rules of course. A 19 year old can make choices on their own because they're an adult but if you're not paying for your stay, then you can't do some things for example bring friends/partners home because maybe your parents don't really like that.

I couldn't agree with you more either get your butt into college or the Military an quit complaining about rules. Geez I raised two twin daughters and a son all of them went to college and graduated and living on their own. Now granted all three call home at some given point, Dad I need this X amount to pay for car Payment or insurance or whatever I don't care, I always help they are my kids, how could I not? If there is one thing that I taught my twin daughters and my son it is to be self reliant but never afraid to ask me or their mother if they ever are in dier needs. I have told all three that they can defer student loans for 2 years with no penalty and no interest to give them a breather to pay bills, rent etc. In order to keep up with current inflation and cost of living expenses and to do not use credit cards, I told them all if you can't pay for it in cash don't buy it Period.

Not if you're literally living under your parents roof. You seriously should obey their rules. They are putting a roof over your head and a place to live and I quite literally sure feeding you. If you don't like it get off your Proverbial ass get a job and get your own place. Or get your butt in college or the military beginning and end of it.

    is not just about age...

if you don't have discipline... then you need discipline, even if you are 40 or 50

especially when you're living at someone else's house, lol

it is not normal... it is just an excuse, also a lame excuse

at your age should be either working or studying... and also aiming to fare on your own

if you act like a child, then you will be seen and treated as child, as simple as that
