Are you suppose to give meals to guests?

Last week my aunt and two family relatives stopped by to visit me. I got told they were complaining the following day.

The only thing I had available for them was Oreo cookies, Lays chips and Pepsi soda. They went on about my lack of hospitality and how I'm not like mom. They also don't understand how I couldn't serve them a good meal if I know how to cook. I told them I only cook for myself.

Honestly are you supppose to cook lunch or dinner and serve meals to guests?

I don't cook every single day anyway. Sometimes I like going outside.

I invite people to dinner, where I cook. Sometimes we meet with friends to cook together.
But the idea to invade someone’s house on short notice and expect a home-cooked meal sounds strange and egotistical to me. 🤔

True. In your case that's different. I never invited them. They called me and wanted to come over. I said ok and that was it. I never told them I was going to cook something.
I think it's enough what I gave them. They still got served Oreo, Lays and Pepsi soda. That should be good enough.

I never feel like cooking for others. I only cook for myself but don't cook 24/7 either.

Then they are in the wrong to mention this to your mother.

True. My mom knows me well by now and just told them that I wasn't born nor raised in Mexico and therefore it makes sense that I'm obviously different.
