Would you feel weird if you a grandparent before your 40's?

This has to be freaky:
One of my friends is already a mother of twin girls. She's my age (24 years old) but the girls are already 6 year-olds. Her parents (the twins' grandparents) are 40 year-olds.

So they were grandparents for the first time at the age of just 34. I wonder what they must have felt like at the time. They still look much younger than their age and grandparents already!!! Wouldn't you feel weird being a young grandparent already?

Due to people marrying later in life (around age 28) 40 year old grandparents are now less common.

My mother was married at age 18, so that her mother (my grandmother) would have been 37 when I was born in 1960, and 40 when my sister was born.

Probably. It's even more weird thinking that I could realistically be a great grandfather. I have not been in touch with my son and don't know what happened to him, but he's old enough that he could be a grandfather.

Nope that's what I'm hoping for actually. My oldest will be 18 when I'm 36 and I'll be very happy to become a grandma at that age

@JohnK123 yep my mom told me that being a grandparent is 100x better then being a parent. She says watching my son be born was the best day of her life

My ex girlfriend from high school was a grandmother in her 40s. She got married right out of high school when she was 18. It is bizarre.

Yeah because my daughter would only be 12. If she was 20 when I was 40 that wouldn't be weird
