Why is she so controlling?

My aunt (who I don't talk to anymore) is extremely controlling and over the most minor things, like food or clothes. If she insists that I get provolone cheese on my sandwich, but I prefer pepper jack, she'll get mad. If she thinks the blue shirt looks good, but I get the red one, she'll get mad. I haven't talked to her in 3 years after I realised how much of a control freak she is.

Some people by nature are that way, or it could have been how she was raised.
