My best friend told me last year that she's "always been jealous" of me because she "thinks I'm perfect." I'm obviously very far from perfect and I don't get why she would be jealous because she has amazing qualities too. I told her she has nothing to be jealous of because she is beautiful and smart, and she said thank you and we had a talk about it. But this year she got drunk again and started listing off the "qualities" of mine she's jealous of? I tried to reassure her again but she got annoyed and said it "isn't fair how my life is perfect and it makes her hate me." I don't get it.
She's actually better at some things than I am, so I don't get this jealousy at all, and it makes me uncomfortable because she sometimes makes sly digs at me. What should I do? I try to boost her up to help her to see how amazing she is, but she keeps telling me she is jealous anyway. Should I let this friendship go?
