My niece grew up not to like me?

I was so close to my niece when she was little and then when she turned 12 she changed completely and started acting weird. She started to compete with me and worry about looks and compare herself to me. She wanted to wear my clothes and I thought this was weird but I was not surprised because her mother has not liked me. What do I do? And who else deals with this problem?
