If your child asked you where babies come from what would you tell them?

I have watched my brothers deal with this for all elven of my nieces and nephews and believe firmly that educating my kids how all of this happens and what everything is and giving them clear directions is the best way to avoid an accident. Setting clear boundaries and e courage g them to explore and ask questions at a yonger age so that they can be more confident and trust your opinions more as they get older seems to actually encourage safety and self discipline much more then leaving them to their own devices.

My 7 year old daughter knows where they come from, i have shown her the video of the birth of her baby sister. we live on part of the ranch that I grew up on and she has seen bulls bred with the heifers and studs bread with with mares. We stillhave chatted about it takes a man and a woman to make a baby. I still nurse her baby sister so she knows what breast are really for. I was raised the same way and she will be ready when she has children of her own.

I'd always tell them the truth.

If the child is like three or four, I'd say "From their mommy's tummies." They will have no further questions.

When they're about seven, if they're clever they will start thinking "Wait... that answer doesn't feel complete." And then it's time for The Talk.

Or you can wait till they come home with their baby? I prefer from their birth to be open and honest. My mom was and by the time I hit puberty I understood so their was still a question come up but neither of us was embarrassed by "the talk" Its much easier at 6 than at 16!

I will tell them the truth and they have to be at least 12 or 13. My dad gave me “the talk” after he and Mom caught me looking at porn at age 12. Then when I started school later that year, I was able to tell Mom about this when I started learning it. She asked me how I knew so much and I told her, “Dad talked to me about this on the day you two caught me and the same day you gave me a bath.” But Mom giving me a bath at age 12 is a different story.

The truth. It wouldn’t be graphic, but there minds are wondering so I would tell them what they need to know. And as they grow there would be more conversations. Kids go out and do things because they haven’t been fully educated. And we tend to think hiding that from them will save them doing that in the long term. It won't they will just get more curious.
