Learned everything I needed to know from my cousins and the older kids in school.

I'm so thrilled that my district invites Planned Parenthood in to talk to the boys and girls about puberty. The dads go with their sons and the moms go with their daughters on separate nights. When I tell you that this is a well attended (voluntary) event for the entire sixth grade class (they're thinking of changing it to 5th grade now) I'm not kidding!! They bring in blow up dolls, a mystery box where the kids can submit any question anonymously and rando DADS have to answer it, a pin the tail on the body part and then tell the assembly (@300 kids n dad's) something about it, a display of grooming equipment and contraceptives, a film with REAL pix of STD infections and I don't even remember what else. The only homework that Dad's had was to ask their sons if they had any questions. Invariably, to a man, not one kid ever asked their dad any question because it was so comprehensive and accurate!

Planned Parenthood does SO MUCH MORE than abortions!!

They gave me a book to read. While my parents were fairly liberal when it comes to views about sex, they weren't much for actually discussing it. The first time I masturbated to completion was after reading about it in that puberty book.
