Why are little kids often dressed in denim overalls?

Doesn't it make it more difficult to use the toilet for instance? Don't the straps keep falling when they move? Any personal experience is welcome.

They’re really fun and you can wear them without washes between wears because they’re not all up against you. And as long as you don’t wear pants under them they’re only as difficult to pee in as suspenders.

Well, little kids naturally play around and get everything dirty, so, given the fact that overalls cover almost all the body, I don't think they will get dirty less often, at least than regular pants. Maybe it could help with cleaning though, by protecting the t-shirt or whatever is under it, as it is more of a problem if that gets stained compared to pants/overalls, being closer to the face and skin. I would say they are great for getting dirty, muddy... as it is a single piece of thick clothing that protects the rest. In that sense they are fun for kids and also really cute :). What do you think?
For peeing though, I don't think anyone would wear pants and overalls at once, but even if they did so once the overalls get unlatched the pants are a simple process... However, the problem I was thinking about is not only the fact that unlatching them and getting them off is a more complex process, especially when they are tight (which they are so that the straps don't fall off) for smaller children, which may lead to accidents... but also for more grown kids or even teens, once the straps are down it is fairly easy for all of it to fall inside the WC once you sit, in case you don't pay much attention or are in a hurry.
Did you wear them as a kid and if so how was it, what was your experience? Did you like them? Were there any of these (or other) problems?

Might be to keep them from getting dirty when playing outside
