Does anyone else have ego battles with both their parents?

I find it very awkward to be in this situation with my parents. It's like we are always in secret competition with the other. I really don't like my mom and try to avoid her as much as I can but I love my dad and I don't want this happening between us but I can't help but feel the awkwardness when we're around eachother. Does anyone else deal with this? Hope I'm not alone.

My father once "accused" me of looking too much like my grandfather - his father - to "lord" over him. Apart from that, we were pretty cool. My mother is a "topper" - whatever I do or happens to me, she did better, but in that case is more fun than anything because she makes up the most outlandish stories.

I would love to do that but that's an awkward conversation to have.. like what if he doesn't acknowledge that it's happening and when I ask him he acts like he has no idea.. so that's why I dont want to bring it up. It's not just me who has an ego but so does he.. my ego has a mind if it's own tho. I know it's not right but I also can't help it. In our family, we have a lot of issues when it comes to talking about our feelings or being vulnerable with eachother

My family is weird at Gatherings they compare dick sizes and Argue over who’s dick is the biggest I no longer go to family gatherings because of that and I don’t even talk to most of my family because of that.
