My ex friend is going round spreading secrets I told her during the friendship, and spreading rumours about me. What to do?

I dumped this friend because she was incredibly toxic. She was not very nice at all. Now because the friendship is over, I've heard she's gone around telling EVERYONE my secrets I told her about my childhood abuse, embarrassing things about me and everything else I told her during the friendship in confidence. She has also been making up lies about me and spreading rumours that simply aren't true.

What should I do to stop this? Or should I even attempt to stop this?

Ignore her and continue to be the better person. People will eventually see through her if she is that toxic (which it sounds like she is tbh). Your character will speak for itself. Yes it sucks that your secrets and stuff are getting out, but it makes her look bad, not you.

at the end of the day, this makes HER look bad. not you. i'd be really uncomfortable if this girl were telling me about YOUR childhood abuse. who the fuck does that?

Wow, I am sorry to hear that and it must really hurt. Ignoring her is the best thing to do, because she is trying to goad you into a response.
