Is hanging out with someone who is awkward draining on the other person?

Awkward as in just an awkward person, they don’t do anything draining they are just awkward

Sometimes. It depends.

I've hung out with awkward people who definitely feel more draining than others. I've found it depends on whether they're comfortable with being awkward or not.

I have some awkward friends who are comfortable with their awkwardness. I find them to be no particular drain - they have a particular way of speaking and acting and I can understand that.

Other people I've met are awkward but feel like they shouldn't be and that's usually when they feel draining. Like I have to guide every interaction, instead of having another whole person there to interact with. I don't tend to deepen these relationships. I'm not a therapist, they're not a project. Friends should build each other up, not suck the life out of you.

I wouldn't say draining, unless maybe they're super depressed. Kinda boring though... never really willing to do anything fun and exciting unless other people aren't around

Awkward is a very vague term, what kind of awkward, goofy awkward, shy awkward, behavior I can't comprehend awkward, creepy awkward, one of those or something else?

If they are comfortable enough to hang out with you they usually become less awkward.

Sometimes they are cute in their awkwardness.. The guy should know how to behave as to make you feel more secure in who you are 🙂
