If actions speak louder than words, how come many thinks mental abuse hurts more than physical abuse?

I don't agree with mental abusing hurts more than physical abuse but i'm not saying mental abuse don't hurt. I understand why you are more likely to get charged if you are physically abusing someone.

Words hurt the soul. Your soul is what remains in you throughout your lifetime. Attacks on your character could have you second guessing what kind of a person you are. It can forever modify your sense of identity. I believe that the greatest type of human suffering is emotional suffering. Think about about the main cause of suicide is. It's not physical pain but suicide is often caused by your emotional pain: those thoughts that come into your brain at 2am in the morning, doubting yourself, not feeling worthy, not feeling adequate because of another person.

Signs of physical abuse, although the lifetime (and psychological) implications can last a long time, will eventually heal and fade away.

Also words come from a place of sincerity. You can hit someone in a moment of rage and then lose that rage within another second. A person's words are usually their thoughts that have been built up over time so there's some truth to them.

But I do think any type of abuse is just as bad as the other and should not be condoned in any way.

Do i have to mention that emotional suffering can also come from physical suffering? Someone physically abusing you can make you question why they're doing it and it can speak more than words. Imagine if someone just breaks your spine then just leave you alone to die. The problem is people compare the worst type of mental suffering to the simplest form of physical abuse. Comparing something like someone spanking you to someone cheating on you.

A simple "fuck you" from a stranger can be compared to someone cheating on you so there is a scale but it is subjective when it comes to mentally. But try to cheat on a rock, it doesn't even brittle unless you pound it so physical abuse is the objective one and its scale can measured with force.

mental abuse are more difficult to heal from than physical abuse. in fact, you might not really remember the physical pain of being hit after healing from it, but once it’s psychological, any similar situation can trigger your brain into a fight or flight, panic mode because it remembers and associates that situation with the abuse you went through.

Actually i'm not just referring to the physical pain itself but the abuse. When you see someone getting punched and they cry, chances are it's not because of the physical pain but it's because of the fact that they're hurt mentally questioning why they did that. You won't remember how the pain feel like but you will remember how they did it

I said "chances are". Not saying it really is. Even if someone punches you not as hard, it can hurt your feelings.

A reason anyone can come up with as to why mental abuse hurts more is because it can cause someone pain physically. Then i can also argue that that's partly physical. Someone who gets a heart attack because of mental abuse is partly physical.

I think when it’s mental, you don’t really always know how to fight back physically you can fight back hell even get a gun, but mentally not. Everybody is up to the challenge to do so.

If they don’t care what people say or at least there’s significant other then why are they in a relationship? Why does it even matter to them about this as far as it going out and not a lot of people use a gun but they’re things to use within a situation fight back sometimes is not possible, but try.

Because they are people who are prepared for any heartaches that can happen. They see the benefits of relationship. If they're scared of relationship issues and if they know break ups and betrayals are gonna affect them in a really long term that can affect their lives then it's more like dating isn't for them. People who are strong don't necessarily or literally not care. They do care but they just know how to be single.

OK when you say boundaries that’s different and you also have to display them in the beginning. But a lot of people are just now learning about their boundaries. Because even if you’re scared to be hurt in a relationship like me, I still want a relationship doesn’t mean it’s not for me it just means I have to find the right person that’s willing to baby steps with me through the process, I’ve been manipulated I’ve been hurt has been cheated on past over everything so the next person that I would be in a relationship Hass to be patient. Physical abuse is painful but mental abuse. Can take you out the game and yes there’s some physical abuse that go beyond and you don’t heal from , but in that process you’re still working on your mental to say I’m strong enough to even go forward with whatever element that happened to me. They both play a role on the same side of the coin.

Depends on how desperate you are. There are those people who see in the red flag immediately and either they give them a chance or leave just leave them. And by the way, if you want to talk about breakups and betrayal are going to affect them in a really long term, isn't physically abusing their partner a part of the betrayal? If your partner breaks your spine, you're going to be both hurt physically and mentally.

I wasn’t talking about some toxic relationship of cheating I am saying in the long run if you break someone’s fine you’re gonna have to recover with the mental that it has you have to recover from it

Then its just like if someone breakes your bones. If you say there's treatment for it then i can say sometimes, healing someone's heart can just be done by talking.
