Were you a planned or “accidental” baby?

My mom was 22, my dad dad was 20. She didn’t like how the pill was starting to swell her up so considered quitting but then actually forgot to take it one day and then pop goes the weasel! After denying for 20 something years that I had an older brother that she miscarried, she finally admitted to it last year. So I wonder was that another slip up with the pill as well 🤷‍♀️ #FeelFreeToList #UnplannedPregnancy

My mother was on birth control when I was conceived.

About a month before she was due, my mother awoke at 2am to horrible pain followed by what she thought was her water breaking.

When she turned the light on, she saw that it was actually an alarming amount of blood gushing out.

My father rushed her to the hospital.

The doctors performed an emergency C section.

I was severely premature and was unresponsive. They actually declared me dead.

My mother was bleeding to death during the entire ordeal.

But somehow some way, they resuscitated me and managed to save my mother.

I needed to live in an incubator for several weeks.

It turns out that effects from the birth control had caused the placenta to tear away from her uterus.

accidental my mom was 21 and in college/university almost everyone in her family told her to abort so she can finish collage, she refused and then my mom got kicked out of college, she was on a scholarship program and she lost it all because she wanted to have me, they told her to go look after her baby and kicked her out! then she had me and my dad stuck around to help raise me while working, he was 27 and they married when I turned 2 and they've been married ever since!.

When my parents were young, birth control was far less of an evidence than now. There was the Ogino-Knaus system, based on women's natural cycle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=ogino-knaus&sourceid=Mozilla-search&ns0=1 ). Which means people seemed generally more busy trying to avoid pregnancy, although now and then a woman still got pregnant. Probably, considered from a certain point of view, my brothers and I were Ogino-Knaus' children ;0)

The advantage of this method was that although most potential pregnancies were avoided, families with a few children still could naturally evolve. Meaning children were at the same time desired and not. In a certain way nature decided, avoiding people taking the responsibility of a decision in case of discussions within the couple. A rather amusing side effect was that odds for women with an irregular cycle to get pregnant were higher.

I actually have no idea and I really don't even care if I was or not because I'm here and that's all that matters I can't go back and look or even ask I would never even ask because if the truth of the matter was said boy have difficult would that be to handle hearing something you were not planned so for me I don't even care it was meant to be and if you were not playing believe me you were meant to be you are an asset to this world you're an asset to your family you're an asset to anything you do you're an asset for us here without you the feelings and thoughts that I might have on any part of the day might be different I want to feel your thoughts I want to feel your opinions the way you think the way you touch the way you oh my god do everything LOL so whether you are wrong or you were right it doesn't matter you're right right now and that's all that counts

Highly planned. My mother was 27 I believe, my father 30. I was and am my late father's only son with two sisters, so I've always been somewhat special to everyone on my father's side of the family. Particularly my grandfather and two uncles, my father was sort of a golden boy. Not saying that my sisters aren't loved equally of course, just that I always remind them of my father and many haven't really moved on even though it was over 20 years ago now. My own older sister who idolized my father especially has a hard time speaking with me without solemnly commenting on the resemblence.

My parents were traditional Catholics. I was planned. In fact, I was born almost exactly nine months after they got married. LOL

I wish I knew. I feel like I was planned, but due to the problems my older siblings had I was adopted. I know I was supposedly meant to be a secret from the social services. I also know my adoptive mum and dad planned having kids but couldn’t so they planned to adopt and found me. So in a way I was planned.

My parents are old af, boring and religious. I think it was sorta a “were married so we’ll welcome any baby” type of situation. I never asked so this is my guess. And I've never seen them happy together for my entire life, as the last child so there's that. Theyre just weird.

It's never a slip up.. Just reckless behavior in the heat of the passion over and over again.. After I learned that there’s a certain time window in which the sperm can fertilize the egg, then I concluded that my siblings and I were accidental from moments of... Uugh... Nvm.. LOL.. Planned to a degree at least but a mistake. I say this cuz of how my family treats me, my whole life with them and my dad said he really wanted a boy and they had my 2 sisters then me and from what my mom told me, my dad was disappointed that they had another girl and they just kept trying until they got my brother and then my dad said “now he needs a brother” and they had my younger brother who’s the youngest

Unplanned. They were already on the precipice of getting separated when my mother got pregnant with me, so they tried to go give it a chance. It didn't work and eventually they got divorced.

My mother was 20 at the time, my father was 38 and they had already two children before me.

I don't think me and my brother was planned just because my mom and dad broke up 8 months before we was born and usually January are when most babies are conceived because a lot of people have sex on New Years Eve but my parents got back together after awhile.
