My grandpa died and my aunt ( wife of my brother , dad ) text me letting me know he passed away. I don’t really have communication with my dad side of the family only with my her and my uncle

I appreciate that she let me know but I don't know what to tell her :( i don’t wanna sound rude I’m thinking of sayinh.

Try making it sound more emotional, as if like you actually care about your grandfather even if you don't, maybe ask your parents what to say that's what I used to do when stuff like that happened, I used to be a master at evading and avoiding such occurrences, now they're all dead so no need for me to perform well

I'm currently going through my sister's death and those simple words are always appreciated, even if they don't change the reality we are currently facing.
