What do I do to better my life now that I'm going to be a dad? I don't want my kid to be like me but I also don't want to be out of their life.
I'm a dropout and I'll be honest I haven't been living right. Just did a lot of stupid stuff. Really could use some advice from someone older.
Work on your mental and physical health. You need to be healthy in both of those aspects for the baby. Also make sure that you have a stable career and work on organizing your finances since they are expensive. Congrats! Having a baby has been the greatest blessing of my life. You may be scared right now but it’ll be your greatest love and most rewarding adventure.
Your life from here on out, will never be the same. A good father will put their child first, love the mother; no matter whatever the challenge (and definitely not simply refer to her as a "side hoe"). Having children of my own, they should and always will be your priority.
Your test, as a father, will be learning to set aside YOU, and making time for THEM.
You at least do that, then you're on the right track.
Try to provide a better life for your child than you had and start taking responsibility.
