How to deal with an alcoholic sibling?

My brother is an alcoholic but he refuses to get help. He dropped out of college, lost many jobs, and might get a divorce after less than a year of marriage because of his drinking problems. My parents and I tried everything but he refuses to go to rehab or see a therapist. I received many phone calls in the middle of the night from hospitals for the past years telling me that he injured himself while drunk. I'm sick and tired of living in terror, waiting for the next phone call telling me that something is wrong with him. My parents and I went into debt to pay all his hospital bills, and paying his rent, etc. Every time he promises he'll get better, but he never does. What would you do if you were in my situation?

Until he wants help there isn't much you can do.
You could try an intervention, it may maynot work.
There are places you can go to get help, just google it.
Sometimes it can take a tragic event.
A fried was on his bike, crashed it, didn't get hurt too badly and ended up in jail.
I think it was his 3rd DWI.
That was what it took, he has been sober for over a year now.

You need to tell him that he needs to get help or you will cut him out of your life. No more calls, no more help. Give him a deadline of 3 weeks to start treatment.

Should have just taken him on a trip instead of just sitting around and wait for him to fix himself GET HIM OUT OF THE HOUSE and away from the alcohol. Don't support a mans downfall it just means he's gonna slump further you need to inspire a man. Thats the secret to a depressed man if they need to see there is a light still to chase and that the world around them isn't just something worth throwing their life away.

Pray he gets a DWI. Sometimes when that happens the court forces you to go to rehab or you go to jail instead.
