Would you be disappointed if your child was in a relationship but decided not to have children of their own?

No, I view that as selfish. You shouldn’t be having children for them to give you grandchildren and do anything to please you. Your children have their own life and I would be very happy with whatever decision they made, as long as they are happy!


I might understand it a bit more as I personally don’t want kids (could change in the future I’m not sure) and I have felt the judgement from others. Not nice.


If someone doesn’t want a kid, why would you pressure them into it? It’s so selfish! That’s not fair on them OR their potential child as it would be unwanted, they might not end up being the best parent, they may not be in a financial position to have kids, it could cause resentment, etc.

I guess I’m not really old enough to answer this. I think having children is a lot more complex than people make it out to be. There’s such thing as infertility and other reasons as to why someone can’t have children

Nope. I would have done my job. Their life is their own. My job is then simply to support them as best I can.

Hell yes! Parents live for grandchildren and even move across country to be nearer the grandchildren when their kids move.
