Do you have old family photos of dead relatives you can't identify?

She's a mystery relative.

Something like this mystery photo of a now deceased relative on my dad's side of the family, taken we believe in the 1930s. We have a few ideas as to her identity, but nothing certain. The only thing I know about for sure is the rifle, because I have it in the Vault of Dead Relative Guns and Other Dead Relative Things.

a big portion of our "past history" and still a mystery, my great grandma would never say much, just that "we're family and this is were our story starts" lol

but we know it started in Europe (both Germany and Spain, and also linked) and when you look at the years and locations, it is all conflictive, so the ancestors either ran from from bad people or they were bad people escaping lmao... what the relatives have started to dig out, is that all last names were changed to American ones not so long ago, and many of these relatives are really into it and finding out more records and stuff, including some old photography from who knows where archives

Yes. There were a lot more unknowns before the Internet. There were entire photo albums where I didn't know who most of the people were. Since the Internet got more and more stuff on it, I've managed to find some overseas relatives and fill in most of the blank names. There are still some unknowns though.

There were several pictures with captions like "Aunt So-and-so". But we had no idea who wrote it, so all we knew was that it was somebody's aunt.

No, that that's very neat. Both my grandparents and my husband's grandparents have old photos of their way back relatives, and even some documents that show our family trees. Stuff like that is always so interesting.

Not us. My mum was good at pulling those out and sharing them on rainy days. My family documentation goes back pretty far.

No, I think we know who everyone is. Well, there are one or two exceptions, but they're bystanders, who just happened to be there when the picture was taken.

Sneaking a picture of someone unknown is exactly the kind of thing we'd do, for the sake of a joke or a challenge, but I think someone would know "hey, that's not right".
