I think that the gender you are determines who you prefer. For example, if a girl starts her first period, she won't go to her dad because he would not understand, so she would seek more advice from her mom than her dad, and if a boy hits puberty and he is noticing changes in certain areas... he'd go to his dad rather than mom

When my parents were alive I used to discuss my problems with both of them separately to get 2 opinions. Unfortunately I can't do that anymore because they are in heaven. I do still talk to them but they can't answer
