What are your thoughts?

Growing up how chill have your parents been with what you wear or who you hang out with or what movies you watch and stuff like that?

My parents have been very strict all through out but since we moved last year they have changed so much. For someone who didn't let me wear even knee length dresses to going out late or watching even a kiss onscreen, they have just changed. They are chill af now. And i was like wow when they got me a pretty revealing dress for my birthday and let me wear it at one their office party. How did they change so much?

My parents were somewhat strict but I totally understand why.
No revealing clothes, no dating till you are much older. No smoking or drugs. My youngest sister drinks (parents aren't happy with it but she turns 20 tomorrow).
No scary movies, no porn (I strongly agree with that one), no sex outside of marriage (I agree with that one too), no swearing, etc.
All of these rules to protect us physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I am thankful for my parents (mostly my mother) 😃

They weren't strict and controlling at all.

My parents were really strict. They wanted to meet all my friends before we hung out. I'm a guy so I was aloud to wear whatever I wanted. I wasn't aloud off the block until I was 15. I couldn't watch scary movies or movies that had cursing in them.
