Why do parents force us to join clubs and do sports, even when we say we don't want to?

My step dad has forced me to do sports since I was little and especially now he makes me do swimming, gymnastics and cheerleading and I just hate it and I don't understand why he likes me doing them so much

Because they’re your parents and want what’s best for you. When you get older and have a job. There will be a LOT of things you don’t want to do.

Believe me there are kids your age who WISHED they could do the things you do. It will also help you when you get older.

We all in life have to do things we don’t want to do.
