Do parents know their daughter sometimes isn't the innocent Little Red Riding Hood?

A couple years ago, my boyfriend got blamed for throwing a party at my parent's house while they were gone. They later found out it wasn't ever his idea. I was the organizer of it all.

Another time, my parents assumed I was getting manipulated by a man older than me by 6 years (I was 19 at the time). He argued with them over the phone and told them the truth, that I was the one traveling miles away from my home to visit him, that I was the one who made first contact with him (even asked him out on a date too) not vice-versa.

My kids have always been open and honest with my wife and I. We always met their friends. My daughter let us meet her potential boyfriends and asked for our approval before she got too attached. They never had to hide or lie about things with us. They knew they could talk to us about absolutely anything

Fathers especially have one eye shut when it comes to their daughters. Do you enjoy pushing their limits?

I don’t lie to my parents so even if I weren’t innocent then they would no. But I feel comfortable and confident enough that I don’t feel the need to do things behind my parents back and then lie when I get caught.
