Is it normal for a man to get nervous before proposing?

My older brother just proposed to his girlfriend last week and she said yes. He seemed nervous before and even practiced his speech in front of a mirror a couple times. It was funny watching him get that nervous.

They had already discussed about having a family and some of their goals. It was so obvious she was going to say yes. Most of the times, it's a given the woman will say yes. What can go wrong? Yet he was still nervous before proposing. If she's your long-term girlfriend, 99% she's going to say yes no matter how your proposal looks like. Is it normal to get that nervous over proposing?

Before proposing, he admitted to us that he never done this before, kept saying what if he gets stuck on some words... damn... he seemed nervous as heck before.

Well yeah of course it's a nerve wracking thing to do even if you know the answer.

It's very nerve wracking when you are going to propose. It's perfectly normal

Yeah I was laughing seeing my brother like that, all nervous about just proposing. It was obvious her answer would be a yes.
