Parents and kids: parents, do you make your kids clean their room? Young folks here: do your parents make you clean your room?

It's not a hill to die on in our house. If you can't get clothes for school or you can't find all the laundry for laundry day -- then you've got to clean your room. Or if it looks like a bomb went off. If I can't see it, then you're golden!

My parents never cleaned my room and when I was younger I been told to clean it from sometimes. These days my dad doesn't tell either of us to clean our rooms. I keep my floor clear and I vacuum regularly because I don't want the floor to be dirty when I'm on it. My little sister's room is just a straight up disaster zone.

I'm living with my grandparents at the moment, but yes, I clean my room and make my bed every day. I simply cannot stand my room being messy and things scattered about. I get tensed very easily, so I have my own system and make sure things are where they should be so that when I need them, I'd know where to find them!

Right! This is so true. The paralysis of the morning if stuff's out of place. Working from home has changed my perspective on my own space.

My kids used to keep their rooms fairly clean. It was never an issue. When they were in high school my wife and I built a 4th bedroom and master bath on the first floor and let the kids have the upstairs. I told them if the board of health comes and condemns the place as uninhabitable it will be their problem.

After they graduated from college and moved out I decided to fix up the upstairs. There were posters on every door, even the bathroom door. When I removed the posters I found holes in all the hollow core doors. The radiators were dented and the woodwork was pretty beat up. I had to replace all of it and got new carpet.

We keep telling my kids to clean their room. After the third time telling them my wife and I go in and clean it. A lot of stuff gets thrown out and donated.

Yep if they don't clean it when I ask then they start getting things taken away. Ipads, switch, tv, even gone to extremes and cut the power off until they cleaned 😂

No, my kids are kinda OCD. So they keep their room tidy and organized.
Other times, our cleaning ladies do the vacuuming and dusting.

Then I salute your mom! :) I really do try to be chill. It was frustrating one Saturday when I had finished the laundry, folded my daughter's clothes and gave her the basket to put the laundry away. She did that. And then came back to me with a full basket of dirty clothes. I gave her a dad look. She said, "well, it was on my floor." Grrrrrrrrrr.
