Did she get into the school or not?

this girl’s mother keeps saying that she is going to pharmacy school and moving to San Francisco. She is saying how much she will miss her and blah blah blah. But I spoke with her daughter and she told me she has not even finished applying to the school yet. Then once she does, if she gets in she will be attending NEXT YEAR, and moving to SF in 6 months. I am so confused. Throughout this entire time her parents have been saying she got into the program and is moving.

what should I believe?

It could be wishful thinking. My mom told people (mostly immediate friends and family) I got into a program when I’d just only applied for it. I did end up getting into the program. I think for my mom though it was her way of coming to terms with it; I dropped everything when my dad died to move home to be with her and she got comfortable so for her to say I was leaving for school I think helped her cope before she had to cope.
