Why do parents always lie?

When i was little boy i always knew my mom had the answer to everything ! But as i grew older i found out she didn't know everything and just made it up because i was annoying and asked so many follow up questions as a kid 🙄 So Santa isn't real and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles don't live in the sewer? So why do parents lie about these stuff? I was heart broken when i found out mom didn't know the answer to everything because she always did but as you grow you know they're just as clueless and human as you are. I will never lie to my kids if i have any.
