I would but that's just me. Not an obligation for you to, no. BUT... I wouldn't turn it into a "she didn't so I won't" thing. Be the bigger person. Get her one because you want to or don't get one also because that's what you want. Not tit for tat. Also, 18 is a milestone birthday so you should consider that before not doing something. Finally, teenagers don't always think the right things or have the right answers so without knowing anything more about her or your family dynamic, cut her some slack. :)

Ah, got it about the ages. Interesting dynamic. Yeah, no judgement if you don't. Something in the way you phrased your question makes me think that you may regret not doing it if you don't. I think she should be getting you presents every year. My wife and I make sure our kids do for each other. But, I'd still say be the bigger person and get her something, even if it's small.

Part of it is that I never had any and still don't. My brothers never had kids and my wife's sister has two little ones that my wife adores. So, there's sort of that programming. But, the scenario that you describe where they didn't get you one so should you get them one? In my brain, the answer to siblings is yes but nieces and nephews and cousins is no.
