Maybe it's a women thing, but I'd much rather have friends. Friends you can share more things with, see how each other are a lot, go out and do stuff.
Acquaintances are nice when you're in school or something, but once that's done you don't talk to them
I've always had a lot of acquaintances, and never a lot of close friends. I've changed that the last couple of years. While there's drama and work associated, it's integral to your development. You should challenge yourself in relationships as it grows you as a person. Avoiding interpersonal communication for a sake of avoiding drama will be a disservice to yourself. We all have flaws, and having a lot of interpersonal relationships in a sense shows us how to behave and become a better person. It also creates meaningful bonds that are irreplaceable to money or anything else.
I just prefer not to commit outside a relationship. I see now a days that even acquaintances have expectations and think I’m supposed to communicate with them daily. Ummm no 😂 I reply when i feel like it and I’m not the type to check in on people. Its not often that i care to know if they’re alive and well. I don't know why im built this way but i am. So i would prefer acquaintances if they learn to stay in their place. Shit everybody disposable in my book (except God and my future kids)
You're built that way because you know people don't really give a shit about other people. So why even bother concerning yourself with them? People are out for their own benefit. You've mastered this unconsciously while it took me until a year ago to truly grasp this. Facts everyone truly is disposable and that's a good way to look at it because that ways you're not let down. The less you expect from people the less you're disappointed
You been preaching lately lol 🙌 But as for that last sentence “less you expect...” I honestly still expect too much out of people. But i dont end up disappointed. I just prove myself right for knowing they wouldn't live up to their word
I try to see the good in everyone even if i dont actually care about the person. So i always expect the best/most from others but im also not surprised when they fail me
I care to see the good in people but i dont really care for the people. Okay say there's two strangers and one walks up to the other and hands them money since the person is homeless. It makes me happy to see someone doing something good hearted. But i dont know these people enough to care to know them if that makes sense. I care enough that people have the basics (food clothing and shelter) but idgaf if people have family, friendships and so on lol
I agree with everything that you said, now that I'm older I see the value in only have a few friends and many acquaintances. I've experienced everything you mentioned plus more. Right now, the handful of friends that I have, we're all on the same page. There's no toxicity so I am extremely content with that.
The girls I have as acquaintances, are very fake and materialistic. One of them I only keep in contact with every one in awhile because she did something really grimey to me.

I prefer friends, but then again I’m not really friends with other women so I don’t have to deal with all the drama and gossiping.
Prefer to have acquaintances. Is wws too much drama with I did have some girls as friends just used my trust ro get closed to my old boyfriends through out college. Some girls kept forcing me to become my friends. I kept saying no.
I would like more real friends. Gets tough once you're out of school.
Acquaintances more than friends.
Depends on the person.
Yes but, rarely ever do.
