How much do you value “online friendships” do you have any people on this website or others that you consider real friends?

I have a friend I know on Twitter whom I never met or saw in real life.

I was checking up on her because I knew she had health problems and she told she really appreciated my concern for her.

I also I know people on here I consider friends even though I never met them in real life.

There are some members here with whom I message often. I think that there's definitely potential for them to develop into true and virtuous friendships. That's not to say that I don't appreciate what we've shared with each other; I most certainly do! The thing with me is just that I'd want to have an actual sustained conversation with them. I like to put a face to the name and hear them speak in their own voice.

As it is right now, it's a few messages here and a few messages there. I'd want to have actual conversations with them beyond that, if it's possible, though I know that's not always the case; there are a couple of them that live on the opposite side of the world, so even a Zoom call would be difficult to coordinate with them.

Nevertheless though, I still appreciate the members that I message with.

I think online friendships so matter but they aren’t the same as having a conversation with someone face to face.

of course... they're also real people, and we're friends

and it comes from how great they are and all the good and great they bring to my life, even if it is online it's still very much of value...

Even in rl I barely accept people as friends. To be honest, most of my friends who love me so much mean nothing to me. In this context, it is almost impossible for me to value a online friend. To be able to sympathize with a online person, I have to think of she or he is really interesting one.

Also, net is always dangerous.

not really, unless I've seen your face or videoed before because otherwise, the other person could've fake or a complete troll. I try not to get attached to anyone online lol
