What do you make of people who don't have any real life friends, just the people here and consider them their friends?

I hate to say this, but I don't FEEL that I have any friends in real life or online. Think about it like this. If I really needed someone to help me, there would be no one I could turn too. So I can't judge other people who don't have friends in real life. Whenever I talk about this, I always tell them my history. Starting from my school years until now. Because that is the only way I know how to explain my lack of friendships. I guess I'm just not friendship material.

@TrueConfection No, people were jerks in my life, and probably due to my ADHD, I don't mentally click with people very well.

@sage2021 I don't know, Sage, but even though we (You and I ) have never met face-to-face, I STILL consider you a 'friend', albeit an internet 'friend', and many faceless people on GAG I consider as an 'acquaintance. With THAT said... a VERY FEW, I feel like I know them 'intimately'... because of the discussions I have had with some, and I think were we to ever meet face to face... we would BECOME good friends.

I may be wrong, but I THINK I can tell by the feelings expressed and the attitudes of many that they are good people with a GOOD HEART and are probably good people much as I consider myself to be.

As you know I have many friends outside of GAG and have tried very hard to cultivate them over time, you you people on line here locally or those in Europe... I still consider you as a FRIEND.

I think it's not healthy to have no real life friends. Humans need social interaction outside of the internet. You don't need many but just having at least one would make a person feel more secure and will give them emotional support and reduce stress. Making mental health better.
