Would you ever forgive your “father” for turning your male siblings against you?

I can’t move past the fact that my own father would turn my brothers against me despite my father knowing I had nobody to defend me. It’s the thought of me being alone, over something I didn’t cause, dealing with drunk men getting aggressive with me that breaks my heart into a million pieces. When my sister brought this up to my father all he had to say was that when he gets drunk he runs his mouth. It’s been a month and I’m still broken.

It's sad that you have to go through this, especially since your father should be the source of provision of all things for you, one of them is protection.. It's also the role of your brothers by the way, but some people are just messed up..
Now forgive him or not , is up to you.. Sometimes you want to forgive but you just can't and it's normal, But I would still be nice to him as his daughter .

And don't confuse giving up on your situation with being nice.. You need to stand up for yourself, and defend your self, just do it firm but nice with your tone and the choice of your words and actions... He is your old father after all.

why are you hanging around drunk men to begin with?

Long story short, my dad had pulled something dangerous off a few days prior to the incident. He had a weapon and drove drunk with my mom and me. He started shooting in the dark right next to us. I got traumatized and told him I didn’t want him having guns. I had to throw a tantrum to finally get him to get rid of it. That’s when my dad met up with my brothers and told them I was a horrible daughter and he didn’t feel comfortable anymore because of me. Another days go by and he gets drunk again and takes my mom. Only this time they didn’t get home and I worried. I found out he was with my brother, who gives him alcohol, and I went to check on my mom. On my way out of his place my two older brothers confronted me and they were drunk too. During the argument neither of my parents came out of his place. They allowed him to yell at me and disrespect me. My own brother and his wife mocked me by saying that I was worried but meanwhile my parents were inside his house and didn’t come out. That’s when I realized it was hopeless.

how did you talk to him? did you scream at him aggressively or tried to calmly talk some sense into him?

I tried talking calmly to him. He didn’t appreciate me addressing it because he told me that I’m nobody to tell him anything and demanded I give him his gun back. When I told him that if he takes the gun back that I wouldn’t see him the same way anymore. He told me he didn’t care and to stop being a burden. I gave him his gun back. Half an hour later I lied and told my mom I would call the cops if he didn’t get rid of the gun.

My dad has a history where he’s constantly abusing my mom and talking bad about his own sons/daughters. He just like my older siblings have normalized it and expect me to tolerate it or just disappear but to not intervene. To me that’s wrong on so many levels but then again…I agree with my brother, that day was the perfect example that my parents didn’t care about me because if they had they would’ve came out when they saw them getting aggressive with me but nobody did anything.

so you took his gun from him?

I didn’t take his gun. I made them return it to my brother because he gave it to my dad in the first place despite it being not registered.

so you were arguing while he was drunk?

[Asker]

No, the day he was drunk he tried arguing with me demanding I give his gun back. I stayed quiet and told him we’d talk tomorrow. Tomorrow came and that’s the day we argued and he returned the gun to my brother.

I don't know how the conversation went and what words are being used and assuming you didn't curse, insult or slander him, it looks to me there's no reasoning with him.
