How would you feel if you discover you are going to have twins?

Question

Yesterday we got the results from the ultrasound and it seems there are two sacs instead of one - it's not certain to make out since they are very close and it could be only one as well - the doctor said we have to wait the end of the trimester to be completely sure.

Honestly I don't know what to make of it, while I am happy I am a bit concerned about jumping straight to three children. My mother said she expected it because my father was a twin, but I had correct her as the genetics for twins come from the mother' side, not the father's. Wife says it's a miracle but I told her to hold her horses, as we aren't sure yet and it could be a mistake.

In the end, one or two it matters little, we'll welcome all out children with open arms.

To the question, I'm already sad that we don't have twin-gens on my side of the relatives cause since years I'm saying that I don't really want own children but if I should meet a man that is worth it and I should get pregnant I hope it to be twins, cause I ain't doing that pregnant shit twice haha and on the inside I hope to meet a man who is fine with adopting or foster parenting tbh

Congrats to you it seems like kids are something you want. For me however amount doesn’t change the outcome of scheduled abortion.

Right now I'd be sad as having had 2 kids in past 3 years and both me and partner being over 40 we've both said we don't want more kids (I'm having vasectomy in a couple of months). We probably wouldn't continue a pregnancy

If I heard that news, I would be quite concerned, as 68 years is a bit old to become a father for the first time. For you. . . congratulations!

Oof nah. My sister had twins and almost died from her c section cuz the babies were so big. They had to cut her open 3 different times to stop the bleeding. Would never want to go through what happened to her.

Hopefully if you have twins the birth goes smooth for your wife

Twins come only from mother - it’s not true. Yes the odds are low to come form father side but it’s not ‘never’ . Also most important at the end genes don’t care identical twins are complete random too. So that’s your luck or destiny for your own kids to be twins. Congratulations

I would be happy but at the same time I would be concerned. Raising one child is already a big responsibility let alone three! But I guess there's no point in speculating since the doctor said you had to wait. Either way, I'm sure they will be welcome and loved by their parents and their parent's families.

I would be ecstatic especially to knock 2 out in one birth! Bt i’d be slightly nervous because so many people who have multiples often end up with one baby constantly being sick. Of course they get well and grow out of it. But they tend to stay in the hospital a little longer or return to the docs often. Im wishing you the best experience with your little ones 🙏

Wow congratulations!  I think I wouldn’t be as happy if I found out I was going to have twins, because at this stage I wouldn’t know from experience how to take care of one baby let alone two.

Damn good luck if it is. Twins run in my family and my boyfriends family so the chance is there.  I would be shocked especially if it was my first pregnancy. But either way babies are difficult.
