Did you know what you wanted to be when you were just a child?

I knew at a very early age that I wanted to be a mom with four children and a nice husband. I did end up have one child and I was and still am a great mom.

Nope. I became fascinated by dinosaurs at a very early age and once said that I wanted to be a paleontologist so that I could go out and fund dinosaur skeletons. I later realized that the reality wasn't as romantic as I had imagined.

When my niece was about the same age, she said she wanted to be strawberry picker. ROFL

I never had any clue about what I wanted to do for a living. Although, in high school and my early 20s, I was a decent rock guitarist and vocalist and considered being a musician. But I realized that music was a brutal business in real life.

I didn't even have any goals when I was in college. Aside from completing required courses, I took things that interested me, like music theory, ancient art history, geology. I enjoyed learning, but was kind of a dilettante.

I had girlfriends, but no interest in getting married and having kids. All I wanted to do was have fun.

I wound up totally lucking out with a job offer that turned into a career when I was 26. Great salary and benefits. Even the job, itself, fit my lifestyle. If not the that, I don't know what I would have done.

Yes and it changed and changed again and I'm something I never thought I'd be when I was a child.

I wanted to be a lawyer when I was young but I ended up in IT. Not really what I was expecting but it worked out for the best. i just always had a strong sense of justice and loved to debate so I figured something in the courtroom would work for me.

Yep!! And, so far, it still hasn't happened!! I came pretty close but no cigar!

I just followed the opportunities as they became available. Ended up working the same job for 41 years!
