Can my neighbor take me to court?

The landlord made it very clear that she doesn’t want us having and dogs. Can my upstair neighbor take me to court for telling the landlord that he has a dog?

What would be the basis of him suing you? If he signed a lease agreement prohibiting any animals, he is in violation of his lease and could be evicted. Nothing you did give him any right to sue, but he has no legal ground to stand on.

I don't see how the neighbor could win a case like that. Also, if the dog barks a lot, that may be illegal also. I know where I live it's illegal because I looked it up.
