My best friend's Grandma just had a stroke. What can I say?

He is out of town so I can't see him but I am chatting him. I can relate to it but I don't really want to talk about me. So what can I tell him? I am terrible at this stuff.

my friends mum had an operation today :(

just say I'm sorry , I just heard , I hope she gets better she'll be in my prayers , don't worry , she'll be fine

Just let him knowt that your there for him if he needs anything at all or just somone to talk to
