If you won the lottery, how would you deal with people and relatives after your fortune?

Keep the lottery win on the down low, no publicity at all, I'd invest the majority what are called Building Societies in the UK these are Mutual Funds that cannot take the risks that banks can and more often do (See SVB as a case in point). I'd gift 2 nieces and nephew £25K a piece (if I gift it to them then it doesn't count as taxable income).

My family doesn't know my financial status so I could clear my debts without raising any flags, I might buy myself a home and not rent anymore, and depending on the size of the lottery win maybe buy a boat like a Botnia Targa 46, a Nord Star 36+, or a Sargo 33, that can cope with Northern European weather.

If it was a big lottery, like over a hundred million, I would hide the fact from all but a few people. My family would know. All my best friends would know. A few neighbors would know. But that's not something I'd want to be public, and I wouldn't flaunt it.

If it was a million, it would make no difference in how I dealt with people. A million at my age is not a big deal. That's comfortable retirement money, but nothing over the top.

I don't exactly have any friends and family anymore!
If certain of my cousins wanted some, I'd probably give them some. My ex-sisters an rot in hell, for all I give a fuck!! I'd probably give a nice chunk to my surrogate little sister and the guy that's been driving me around and doing me loads of favours.

But if they found out, I just tell them I'm paying off the debts I have accumulated over my lifestyle. Or that I already spent it all on Fortnite skins (which is a lie, I don't play Fortnite) 😆 or that i got into a medical complication and require bankrupting expensive surgery. At least that one is more believable.

Then after everything had been sorted, legally and financially, I would tell immediate family.

Why would I tell them about it? Unless I make a hugh investment like a large property, it's just money in a bank account, and those numbers are private. Not that I can win because I don't play the lottery.

No relatives. Many of my closest friends are what are known as trust fund babies, and even if I won - unless I was the sole winner of a Mega - would probably still have more than I would.
