Would you loan your car to a friend that has a history of crashing theirs?

I have an extra vehicle and a friend of mine asked if they could use it while theirs is in the shop for the week. They have a history of running into things, but, they are a good friend, what should I do?

I don't want to hurt their feelings by saying no, but, I don't want my car (that's never had any damage), devalued from an accident.

Loan them money so they can rent a car with their credit card and if they have insurance on the card, the card will if they damage the car.

I had considered that, but would likely have to lie and come up with an excuse not to use my car.

Needs it for the week though to go back and forth to work etc. while the car is in the shop.

Bus pass time. In the old days I'd get a him or her a $500 or $1K junker, but even junkers are $3500 now around here.
