What did your parents get you when you were sick as a child?

There was one time when I had the stomach flu on my birthday and the next day, my mom gave me this cute little beanie baby turtle. That's the only time my parents gave me anything when I was sick. 😅

Aside from child-friendly herbal drinks prepared by grandma, chicken soup and medicine, wasn't given anything else special. Or maybe I don't remember.

When you have the Flu, mom will bring the fever down and you will feel pretty good for a while, good enough to read a comic or watch a movie. They never sent me to school just because a fever broke lol

For me even if the fever broke, i wanted to sleep or talk myself back to sleep. I wasn't gonna get germs on my toys (the ones i had before getting sick)

I did not get gifts when I was sick, instead I got medicine and cleaning of my body parts. When I was in my 20s I got Gatorade when I had the stomach flu. Later I would buy myself peppermint and honey tea every week at school to protect myself from getting sick.

My mom always made 'sick toast" cut into triangles. Sick toast was reserved for only when I was sick and had cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on buttered toast. 🙂

When you are sick you are sick & as a child when I was sick my parents got me cough syrup & gave me the remote control & the day or days off from school.
