If mom is dark-skinned but I'm white like dad, can my kids still be like mom?

I came out super white like dad, got his recessive gray eyes and reddish hair. The only thing I got from mom is the super curly, kinky hair and wider nose and lips.

My current boyfriend of 4 years is really from Netherlands, white and no dark-skinned genes in his family. I'm kind of interest in genes. So let's say we were have to kids. Even if he only has white genes, I can still give birth to dark-skinned babies? Would they come out like mom?

Your kids would have 1/4 dark genes, yes they might have dark skin, though it's not likely.

and yet genes are random; it's like rolling the dice. It would've been different if I weren't biracial, then our children would've been 100% light skin. But yeah 25% still makes a difference. It means I still carry the dark skin gene within me.
Since my boyfriend already met my parents, he knows my mom, hopefully he'll understand if we were to have kids and one of them were to beat that odds of being the darker skinned child.

Yea it like backgammon, not chess, there is luck involved but also other factors, or in other words it's not totally random, there some strategy as well, eugenics was quite popular in the past. If he didn't met your mom then he might had thought that you cheated on him, but he know that you biracial, like Meghan Markle, and you saw their children, right?

I've already seen her children before. They're handsome children. I'm lighter than Meghan Markle though. I'm just like my dad in color, very white but with afro facial features and curly hair. Yeah if he didn't know my mother, for sure he could've jumped to conclusions... though my coarse, afro hair would be the giveaway that I'm mixed.

Some kids could be lighter and some darker. Just really depends. They would be what, like 25 percent black? Some could have tans, and some could be light.

Genes are so random aren't they? We're two siblings; it's me and my younger brother. He also came out white like dad and light eye color. Yet for sure we still carry the black genes in us.

I actually can't help who I fall in love him. I love my boyfriend and we have talked about forming a family sometimes the ending of this year. I was just wondering how far can a gene go? That would actually be interesting, we having kids and one of them still coming like mom.

I've heard of a couple cases like that, where both parents were white and their baby came out dark-skinned. They got tested and it was indeed their child but one of the parents had the dark genes.

Well, odds are your baby will be white, like you and your boyfriend. Of course, there are a few cases where the child isn't the colour of the parents but that's rare.

Yes those are rare cases and yet a maternal grandmother's genes can't be ignored either. The fact that I'm biracial means I still carry the black gene.

True. But odds are, since your boyfriend is also white, your babies will be white or tanned-skinned. Not like brown or black-skinned babies. The latter won't happen.

Genes are unpredictable. Just the fact that I'm biracial (but white in color), is enough to produce any of those tones. Hopefully when we have kids one day, my boyfriend understands if our child comes out darker than us, it's because of my mom.

He already met my parents. He knows my mother so I guess it's best to assume he already knows there is a chance (even small, even if it's slim) our children might not come out white.

and yet sometimes even 25% or less still makes a difference. It's still enough for genes to randomly get mixed and pop up. It's like rolling the dice. It would've been 0% if I would've white like him without any African heritage. Genes are random luck.
Well the good part is he already met my mother. He knows my parents (and my hair is very curly, afro hair) so if one of our children doesn't come out white and appears darker or tanned, then he knows why.
