A lot of people are ignorant about skin color variations in families. I grew up with rainbow colored relatives, so it's normal to me. Others did not.

You can kindly explain that genotype is expressed in MANY phenotypes, even within families. Genes reach forward, back and combine. You never know how people will turn out.

Beats me. I have a few relatives who married hispanics. Granted with one exception their kids still came out blonde. Just blondes with a constant slight tan. The exception is a pale complexed fast growing tall girl. Way taller than the rest. I think they still look related to us so this likely doesn’t help much.

I'm not sure that it's an intentional, overt thought. It seems like a lot of people who are related do have similar skintones though.

My sister and brother are pale all year round, but I'm always at least one shade darker than both of them. It's usually more like 2 or 3 shades darker.
