It is always believed that women have a maternal instict or one stronger than men. Do you believe it is true or not and why?

By the answers I got so far, most missing the question is making. Women and Men both have MATERNAL and PATERNAL instict. It is instict and cleary most people are bases it on sex not what I believe, a person ATTITUDE. Like they say a man best friend is his dog. But many women have dogs. Women best friend are diamonds but many men wear diamonds.

The word "maternal" is a reference to women.

In general it's just the case. I doubt that the shift in relationship dynamics will really change it. But if you look at individual couples or people there will obviously be quite a few exceptions.
