Uncomfortable seeing a family member in a bikini?

To clarify I live with my grandparents and ignore the age displayed on my profile I’m actually 18. They’ve always been strict ab what I wear. Although once I got older I bought my own clothes and for a moment started leaning towards starting an of (not anymore) so I’m not shy about what I post online

Now I’m 18 and I enjoy dressing up in crazy clothes (generally provocatively like mini skirts, bikini shaped shirts, low rise pants w the gstring sticking out.) never entirely naked but you get the idea. I was trying on swimsuits for our upcoming family vacation. I don’t really own any modest swimsuits even my one from last year had strappy holes on both sides showing off all underboob. (I have big boobs but no butt) and before this my grandparents never allowed me to swim in regular swim bottoms, it was always shorts. So now I got some normal ones.

The outfit I had on was a regular triangle bikini top and the bottoms were a little bit cheeky and they’re my most modest swim bottoms. My grandma came in and started complaining about what I was wearing and she said it made everyone else uncomfortable but she’s always been the one to make remarks about how I have no ass so if there’s nothing there to see I don't know what the problem is😭 but she made a remark about how it was inappropriate I was wearing it in front of my grandpa (he called me out of my room for help with something) and I think it’s weird that I should be uncomfortable with what I’m wearing in front of my grandpa. I trust him and he’s a good person.

I don’t see why anyone in my family should feel uncomfortable with what I’m wearing and obviously I’m not going to wear a bikini the whole trip. But I also know I get defensive easily and I might not see other people pov. If it makes a difference my family is not religious nor is anyone very judgmental.

I don't know if my grandparents are old school but how would you feel if a younger family member was wearing revealing clothes?

I don't see an issue in being in a bikini or in a guys case trunks, around family. I guess your grandparents are just very old school and not used to it.

I am a nudist myself, so I wouldn't mind revealing clothing on others at all. To me, swimwear is just about the most useless clothing ever: it is incredibly uncomfortable having wet fabric all around you when you go swimming (and it often slows you down in the water) and get out of the water again, and for relaxing in the sun it is even worse; it only results in your body not getting a good tan evenly.

Just to be clear: simply being clothesfree is NOT sexual, unless you make it sexual yourself.

They don't have to be thinking of you in that way for it to be sexual. Exposing your body is sexual. If a parent walks in on their kid having sex what they were doing was sexual. Just because the act was sexual doesn't mean the parent is being sexual.
