Whats something your elders have said to you while you were young that ended up being true?

My uncle, my mums oldest brother, he was 20 years older than her, told me when I was 18: "you are a late bloomer, everything you want in life you'll get at a much later age than everyone around you"

In HS, we had a teacher, Mr Smith, a civics teacher, who always asked the class idiots:

"What have ya got to sell", with the obviously implied meaning of what do you have to offer an employer after you graduate from HS.

I, too, was a 'slow learner' but it did impact me, later because after HS, I had little to offer an employer but my youth, enthusiasm and a relatively strong back.

I learned. I went to college and then Grad school, and tried to make up for the lack of learning I missed in HS, and TRIED to develop skills to "Sell" to an employer.

I realized you gotta have something to sell to be successful .

True for me it is be patient the be women will come when she comes.

2 marriages latter we found each other and while we are an open couple we are perfect together sharing every thing and every one!

She love bragging and bringing a friend home from work for me!

My mom would force me to walk all the way to the furthest room to throw out dust particles and single crumbs of food which I thought was crazy and obsessive, but when I stopped doing that, I began to see moth in my room. They’ve decreased now that I make trips to the washroom to throw out micro contaminants like dust particles or single pieces of crumb etc…

That the entertainment industry was bad. I wanted to be an actor when I was a kid and even was in acting school in uni. My grandpa said he didn't approve when I first told him in a letter when I was 7 or so. He said it was not for decent people. He was right!!
