Hypothetical

You have a newborn baby at home and you have a neighbor that drives his dirt bike up and down the street every 15 minutes.

You live in the mountains where the nearest ATV/Dirt Bike trails is right down the road. But alas your asshole neighbor insists on gunning their dirt bike up-and-down your road at all hours of the day.

What do you do if talking fails?

Option 1.) File a nuisance complaint with local PD.

Option 2.) Sabotage the bike or the road.

Option 3.) You tell me

Putting newborns to sleep is a bitch and-a-half the first month of life due to the fact that they are on opposite cycles (awake at night - --asleep during the day).

Go the police route first, it'll be the start of official record.

Talk discreetly with other neighbours and get allies. It's likey you're not alone in your annoyance.

From there, figure out your revenge. If the police can tell you, get an idea of what they need as evidence to act on this jerk.

Maybe that's a decible meter you track readings on. Maybe that's a sort of speed reference, if he seems to be speeding in a residential zone. If he's in the habit of doing risky shit, a camera recording him driving dangerously in a residential street is a good idea.

Compile evidence, keep complaining, hand off evidence.

Is the operation of the dirt bike on the road legal or illegal?

If it's legal, I'd say to soundproof the baby's room or move somewhere else.

I'd move, regardless, myself. I can't stand the sound of those monster bumblebee sounding contraptions.

If it's illegal, get some video of the neighbor illegally operating the bike and then call the police.
