Isn't genetics strange in the way that it works?

You get your genes from your parents. Sometimes the genes from one are recessive and you turn out like either your mother or your father. Sometimes you get both of their genes and you share traits from both of them. Your genes govern what your body is like. For instance, the size of your boobs or penis. How tall you are, what bone structure you have, which usually also governs your body weight. Your parent could be short and you tall, or vice versa. Your eye color and just about every body attribute is governed by the genes you get from your parents, and sometimes your grandparents. Check out the pics that have to do with what genes you get. There is something interesting happening in the UK. Brown eyes used to be most common in the UK and blue eyes the least common. Now it is 48% with blue eyes and 30% with green (total 78%) and brown eyes are only 22%.

Once brown eyes were dominant but are now rare. In a rock paper and scissor type of game the gene for blue eyes must come from both parents, the gene for green eyes beats blue eye genes and brown eyes genes beat green and blue.

You can only conclude that blue/green eyed people got fucked a lot more. And those recessive genes have been spreading quietly through UK babies until hey presto enough people have the recessive gene to make blue/green eyes more common than brown.

Brown eyes are now endangered. It is possible that brown eyes start becoming more attractive due to rarity and brown eyed people start getting fucked more.

Of course it is a bit of a giveaway if a blue eyed couple have a brown eyed baby.

Brown eyes are usually associated with certain races. White people rarely have brown eyes, while Latino and blacks do. It seems like green eyes are associated with those of Irish descent. But there can always be a ringer gene in the mix so as Forest Gump said, you never know what you are going to get. Just don't place any bets.

The shift is a little more significant than that. In the UK there are eye colour records going back a long way and generally blue eyes were regarded a rarity and some shade of brown as common. Going back to WW2 some shade of blue was 20% but is now more than doubled to 48%. That's a fairly pronounced shift.

As both parent's need to supply blue eye genes for child to have blue eyes - as brown is dominant and the child will have some shade of brown if it gets blue brown combo - then a blue blue combo has become more frequent.

A blue eyed couple has to have a blue eyed child. A brown eyed couple or a couple with one brown eyed partner could have a child with brown eyes or green or blue if that brown eyed half had a recessive green or blue gene.

It is not that random.

Incidentally Cheddar Man (an early hunter/gatherer skeleton found in Cheddar England) likely had blue eyes and brown skin. And in the Levant an early inhabitant was found to blue eyed but brown skinned. So that combo was around once.

I got both. Looks and height are my dad. Color blindness from my mom's side of the family. Hair from dad too.

Genes are amazing.

I look like my mother, I got my chin + nose from my dad. My half brother - on my dad's side and I look nothing alike, yet his daughter is a spitting image of me as a kid, just skinnier and bigger eyes. I also resemble my aunt and cousin but I look nothing like my mother's side of the family

I was wondering this just yesterday and i have seen lots of documentaries about it. Your genes re made up from both sets of parents as they are copied to create the child mutations occur. It is interesting how some genes can skip generations.

Anything on your body is determined by genes of your parents. I guess it could be determined how much the doctor snipped off when someone was circumcised.

Good point. I was circumcised when I was born so I have wondered how much longer it would have been if they'd left it alone. And yeah I've compared mine to family members but I won't go into detail there lol.
