Is an 8 month old too young to be attending child care?

I'm thinking of enrolling my baby into child care 1 day a week, when she is 8 months old. Mostly so that she will have other babies and kids to play with, as I am all she has. However, I have been told by my uncle I should wait until she is older to send her. Now I'm not sure what to do

I don’t trust daycare centers. Seeing what sorry excuses for human beings have the audacity to do to babies and children makes me furious. 😠 Not to scare you and not to say all daycare centers are like that, but I just don’t trust them. Anyway, use your best judgment, look at reviews of local daycare centers online, and do what’s best for you and your family. 😊

I don't fully trust them either I'm just concerned that with My baby having no one else other than me and having no kids to play with either that she will eventually become bored but also scared to play with other kids or even leave my side when she is older and has to actually attend school kind of like how many babies who were born during covid times were. Maybe I can see if there is a parent meet up group with parents who have kids the same age as my daughter

She’ll be fine. Trust me. I was an only child and was taken care of by family. I was around adults and wasn’t around kids until Kindergarten. I turned out fine. 😊

I don't have kids but I would assume the child should not be in day care until they are weaned and able to eat solid food rather than milk. Because a day care worker with 8 kids under their care can't give the baby the integrated care they require if they are younger then that.

The child care where I was thinking of sending her is catered for babies under 12 months but I see what you are saying about integr care

Nope. My son first went at 3 months, only 1 days week, we had to because of work. Actually think it benefits their development to be there from an early age, lots of interaction with ither kids.

The company I worked for went bust so right now I don't have a job so I can be at home all the time but I'm thinking along the lines of what you are saying about it benefiting their development and being able to interact with other kids especially since there are no kids around for her to play with where I live.

I also stop and think about all the babies who were born during covid and how so many off them were scared to play with other kids and leave their parents side and I really don't Want that for my baby

My son was at nursery for about a month before covid lockdowns happened. They reopened when he was about 9 months. He's always gotten along OK with it, has never been full time, spends most time with me or his mum, but time there is well spent
