Why are South Korean teens like this compared to American adolescents?

Question

How come that American adolescents such as American teens mockingly disobey adults, disrespect adults, and treat adults as "Enemies of Adolescents"?

American adolescents also replace their parents with friends. American adolescents treat their friends as if they are their real parents while American adolescents don't do that to their actual parents.

South Korean teens on the other hand respect adults and choose their siblings and their cousins over bad friends.

How come it is like this?

By the way, I was raised in South Korea. I am from South Korea.

I am a 17 year old South Korean girl.

I love and hate North Korea at the same time. I hate North Korea for their aggressions against South Korea but I also wish that one day, South Korea and North Korea will be together and peaceful.

I love Korean Barbeque!

Finally, I, my siblings, and my parents are Christians while one of my uncles, his wife, and his children are Buddhists.

Cultural differences. In the west, individuality and personal freedom are seen as important. In the east, collectivism is seen as more important and standing out is not a good thing. When society as a whole functions in a certain way, it's easier for kids and teens to do whatever is seen as "normal".

Although parents in the west might not want their kids to rebel or disobey the rules, kids are still subconsciously taught by society that they're expected to break free from their parents, do their own thing, make mistakes and learn from them etc, because it's all a part of "finding yourself". You're encouraged to put yourself first, to chase your own dreams, to find fulfilment through the things you feel are important.

Whereas in the east, there can be serious repercussions if you stand out too much, disobey your parents or the law, or if you don't meet certain expectations and standards. You can become completely shunned by your peers and kicked out by your parents. It's in your best interest to follow the rules and to meet the standards and expectations set by society, which tend to be much higher in the east. Everyone upholds these standards and rules as a collective group, which makes it really difficult for people to even consider disobeying or trying to stand out.

Another big cultural difference can be seen in the language. Hangul uses honorifics and formal/informal tones to "rank" people according to who you are, and who other people are to you. Categorizing people like this makes it very clear that respect is a must, and it's seen as very impolite or even fully disrespectful to address people in a way that's too familiar or in a way that doesn't follow these language rules. This kind of emphasis isn't found as often in western languages, and if there are similar rules, they tend to be looser and not as ingrained.

I could go on, but these points are probably the most obvious ones.

i don’t think teens from either culture are all the same — there are respectful American teenagers and disrespectful korean teenagers too, i’m sure. i also would say that some parents are shitty and abusive and don’t deserve their children’s respect. interesting cultural question!

America has been heavily indoctrinated by woke liberal/progressive ideals designed to destroy the basic building block of society i. e. the nuclear family unit

these woke liberal/progressive ideals can be found in Karl Marx Communist Manifesto and many Americans are actually pawns who uphold the status quo

without these foundations, the country itself will rot and you see this with the high crime rates, hostility and division between identities, lack of morals and ethics, political alliances, a suffering economy, actual injustices and inequalities etc.

this is why most countries hate America especially when they try to push their insane beliefs onto the rest of the world and when countries refuse, America starts proxy wars with them like Iraq and Afghanistan

Bad parents are why teens are not friends with/respectful to their parents. Unfortunately parents that mistreat their children are common in the US.
